A cerimônia da 74ª premiação do Emmy aconteceu hoje, dia 12, diretamente de Los Angeles, Califórnia, e foi marcada por um clima morno, sem grandes polêmicas. Apresentada por Kenan Thompson, que iniciou a cerimônia com uma performance dançante reimaginando temas clássicos de séries de TV, a cerimônia teve poucos discursos longos e pesados. Quando se fala de vitória, ninguém chamou mais atenção do que a atriz Sheryl Lee Ralph, de Abbott Elementary, que mereceu uma ovação ao subir ao palco e cantar “Endangered Species", de Dianne Reeves, antes de discursar em agradecimento.
White Lotus saiu colecionando estatuetas, não somente vencendo em sua categoria principal, Melhor Minissérie, Antologia ou Filme para TV, mas por seu criador, Mike White (que levou por prêmios de roteiro e direção), além dos integrantes do elenco. Já tendo dominado as categorias - com quase todos os atores concorrendo juntos - foram os esperados Murray Bartlett e Jennifer Coolidge que saíram vencedores. Nas categorias de comédia, Ted Lasso e Abbott Elementary saíram na frente - levando categorias de direção e roteiro, respectivamente. O prêmio principal da categoria, no entanto, ficou com a produção liderada por Jason Sudeikis na AppleTV.
Succession, a líder de indicações do ano, levou o principal e mais prestigioso prêmio da noite: Melhor Série de Drama. Nas categorias de atuação, no entanto, a produção da HBO só levou na categoria de Ator Coadjuvante, com Matthew Macfayden, enquanto Round 6, Ozark e Euphoria (com Zendaya quebrando recorde) ficaram com as estatuetas.
